The impasse over the Manipur issue continued to rock Parliament on Tuesday with the Lok Sabha being adjourned till 2 pm amid uproar by the Opposition members demanding a statement by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the situation in the violence-hit state.
Soon after the House assembled at 11 am, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla tried to take up Question Hour. However, Opposition members began raising slogans over the Manipur issue, demanding a statement from PM Modi.
Birla urged the Opposition members to allow the House to function. “Don’t you want to run the House? Do you not want to use the time such as the Question Hour,” he asked.
“This is an important time. I request you to allow the House to function. You have a discussion on questions during Question Hour and fix the accountability of the government,” Birla said. Most Read 1 Gadar 2 box office collection day 4: Sunny Deol film records biggest Monday collections of all time, nets a total of Rs 173 cr 2 Bigg Boss OTT 2 Finale Live Updates: Elvish Yadav wins Salman Khan’s show, Abhishek Malhan shares message from hospital 3 Happy Independence Day 2023: Wishes Images, Whatsapp Messages, Status, Quotes, and Photos 4 OMG 2 box office collection day 4: Pankaj Tripathi-Akshay Kumar film delivers better Monday than opening Friday, earns Rs 55.1 cr 5 Jailer box office collection Day 5: Rajinikanth film set to cross Rs 350-crore mark worldwide on Independence Day
